It's been six years since the foxes shocked the world as they lifted the prestigious premier league trophy,with an odd of 5000 to 1. The fairytale of a team regarded as an underdog became reality as the foxes ended first on the table. Fast forward to six years later, they have a match with the current champion of the premier league- Manchester city.
Unlike six years ago, a lot has changed. With the likes Ngolo kante moving to Stamford bridge and Riyad Mahrez continuing his career with the current champion, only few of the title winning players are left in the team. Although the Leicester squad is still full of promising stars like; kelechi Iheanacho, Maddison, Ayoze Peres, football analyst still say it is no match to city's brutal squad depth.
Having five premier league titles to your name since 2011 is by no means luck. It has to be a planned and deliberate effort involving heavy monetary investment, improved coaching system and attractive incentives to stars. This is the Manchester city story, a team with the likes of Debruyne, Grealish, Sterling, Benardo and the rest. We can go on and on about how this team is so strong and solid with the ball, or is it possible to exhaust their passing prowess or their subtle ability to lead a game. City is a definition of modern day football machineries.They are prolific with the ball and at thesame time a joy to watch. With the signing of former Aston Villa star- Jack Grealish, many feel their is still more to see from this team.
The foxes [Leicester city] goes head on with premier league champions- Manchester city. This is still believed to be a game of underdogs against the favourite- Manchester city. This is an obvious opinion to pickup considering the squad depth of both teams. But in my opinion, I think the match will ends with a 2:1 win in favour of Leicester city. I feel the world of football is up for another surprise.
