More sex for brain power
How many species of animals can enumerate whose names begin with the letter "U"? And have you sex soon? A new study finds that the more often you have sex, the better brain function will have.
More sex means you are better with words in all situations. This was tested in the following way - the participants were given 60 seconds to list as many animals whose names begin with relatively rare letter "F". Those who have performed best are shared practicing regular sex on a weekly basis.
Another test demonstrated that those who make more sex, do better on tests that explore the ability to visually distinguish. The study has included 73 people aged between 50 and 83 years.
"For the moment we can only speculate whether this is due to social or purely physical reasons, but clearly the area where you need to concentrate our efforts is the one studied in depth biological mechanisms," said Dr. Haley Wright, lead scientist the study.
"In each subsequent research are becoming clearer idea of the real reasons for the existence of this relationship," she added. "We are approaching to the true nature of the mechanisms and the question whether there is a causal link between sexual activity and cognitive function in older people."
