Quien busca encuentra: La famosa "Carta a García" - Who seeks, finds: The famous "Letter to García".

Siempre llamó mi atención desde que era una adolescente, el conocer un poquito más sobre esta famosa carta y su contenido, pues pensando que era una fábula, indagando me dí cuenta de que no, esta carta existió, es real y aquí les comento de qué se trata y el gran mensaje que nos deja.

Esta mundialmente famosa carta, la escribió un estadounidense el 22 de Febrero de 1899, con el único propósito de animar a los inactivos y pesimistas a dedicarse con todo el entusiasmo posible a actuar, sin conformarse con hacer únicamente aquello por lo que se les paga, o aquello que les es muy fácil de realizar.

Cuenta la historia, que hubo un hombre cuya actuación fué decisiva durante la guerra de independencia de Cuba, cuando los Estados Unidos decidieron intervenir en favor de los rebeldes cubanos. Se vió la clara necesidad de un urgente entendimiento entre el presidente de los EE.UU. de esa época y el jefe de los patriotas, el Gral.Calixto García.

Este entendimiento se intentaría por medio de una carta que debía ser enviada por el Presidente norteamericano pero...¿cómo hacerla llegar a las manos del Gral. García?...¿Qué hacer?

Fué entonces que aparece un hombre llamado Rowan, quien toma la carta, la guarda muy segura y a los cuatro días desembarca en las costas de Cuba, que estaba en poder de los españoles. Desaparece en la selva tenebrosa, para aparecer nuevamente a las tres semanas al otro extremo de la isla cruzando peligros, donde pupulaban los enemigos, entonces entrega finalmente la carta al Gral. García.

Los dos frentes coordinan acciones y se gana la guerrra.

El punto sobre el cual quiero llamar la atención es que debe enseñarse a la gente que desea adquirir un verdadero carácter, cómo hay que cumplir el deber que tenemos que cumplir, concentrar todas nuestras energías para dedicarnos con toda el alma a la acción: "llevar la carta a García".

El Gral. García ya murió obvio, pero existen muchos más en este mundo. Son todos los que necesitan de nuestro esfuerzo, optimismo y valentía para obrar.

En los últimos tiempos escuchamos hablar continuamente de los explotadores, que fulano se hizo rico porque explotó a los demás...y puede ser, pero lo que no nos explican es que ese señor Rowan, jamás tuvo miedo ni reparos en cumplir su encomienda, que no tuvo miedo de levantarse muy temprano a trabajar, que los fines de semana en vez de ir a la cantina, fué a planificar su progreso y a perfeccionar sus conocimientos. Que mientras los otros charlaban, él estaba trabajando. Que mientras los demás dormían o se lamentaban, él estaba despierto buscando soluciones.

Porque en vez de echar a una alcantarilla la "CARTA A GARCÍA", y dedicarse luego a buscar excusas por no haber conseguido fama ni éxitos, se lanzaron de lleno a buscar fórmulas para triunfar y, como "todo el que busca encuentra", encontraron las fórmulas y practicándolas...triunfaron en la vida.

Who seeks, finds. The famous "Letter to Garcia"

This world famous letter was written by an american on February 22th, 1899, with the only purpose of encouraging the inactive people and pessimistic to dedicate themselves with all possible enthusiasm to action, without being satisfied with doing only what they are paid for, or what is very easy for them to do.

History tells us that there was a man whose performance was decisive during Cuba's war of independence, when the United States decided to intervene in favor of the Cuban rebels.
