Five Generations in One Photo.

in #blog9 years ago

Families are like branches on a tree, we may all grow in different directions but our roots are all the same.

Family is what life is all about, without them we are nothing which is why this week I am focusing on what is most important in our lives, our families.

In this picture below is my family, five generations all coming from the same roots, from left to right, my Grandmother Veronica, my Mother Tessa, Me, my Daughter Chanel and her Daughter Sienna. oh and a few grandkids in the front row.

This is my Grandmother holding my Grandaughter.

If I knew that not long after this picture was taken that my Beautiful, caring and kind hearted Grandmother would pass away then I would have really made an effort to see her a lot more and tell her how much I really loved her.

I think we are all guilty of making mistakes like this, we take our family for granted and for some reason we just expect them to always be there, even though in the back of our minds we know everyone dies at some point, we still never believe it will happen to our loved ones until that day comes.

I'm not saying we should constantly be worried that our loved ones will die, but I am saying that we should really make an effort to spend as much time as possible with them before its too late.

For some strange reason, we have all chosen our careers over our families, and I am convinced it is because we have all been schooled by governments for hundreds of years to believe our jobs are more important.

Lucky for me I never really went to school, which must be why I chose my family and freedom over a career and debt.

I am convinced that if you spend more time with your children and don't put them in school when they are young and they really need you, then maybe they wont put you in a nursing home when you are old and you really need them.

Miss you Nan.

Peace and love to the World.

Sorry for the loss Mark. Thank you for spreading a great message. I am sure your Nan would be happy to see how many people you are able to reach and affect with your words. Most importantly you family and children. It can not be easy to share such personal stories, so I want to truly thank you for doing that. We appreciate it!

Wow, Thank you @elderfinancial. I really appreciate your kind words as they feel so genuine, and I can tell you really read the posts which makes it all worth it.
Thanks for being a true supporter and making me laugh too, I think my next post has to be about Ronaldo coins, oh yeah thanks for the SBD you sent, I wrote a bit about that in my post about Randowhale :)
Til next time, Have a great day my friend :)

Such a beautiful photo of the generations in your family! You are so lucky to have been a part of that.
We normally see only three generations around. Max I saw in my family once was four generations.
The photo with your Nan and your granddaughter is a totally frameworthy one! She must have been so happy to have seen and held your grand daughter. One day your grand daughter will see the photo and feel the love. Stay blessed @markwhittam.

Thank you @sandzat for you beautiful comment, yes we count our selves very lucky that we managed 5 generations, all be it for a short time.
Yes this photo I took of my grandmother is beautiful and it was the photo used at the funeral for everyone to remember her by, it has been framed by many and we will too, once we get round to it.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us they really made us smile.
Bless :)

You are so right @markwhittam,

This is exactly why my husband and I looked after my grandfather in our own home until he passed,

Now with my mother who is fighting cancer, I am nursing her back to health daily without putting her into a care home,, I truly believe that the so-called nursing homes we get are just death sentences for those we love.

I mean even I myself get days where I feel like there's no light at the end of the tunnel,, so how must those people feel 99% of the time when they are looking after people who are difficult or in need of a lot more care and are ungrateful to them. I don't justify these nursing staffs actions towards those people who really need their love and care but you know what. Our parents loved and cared for us when we needed the support, why are so many of us turning away from them in their own hour of need?! it's just so wrong in our society.

Thank you @mysticlilly16
I think it's amazing what you have done for your grandfather and what you are doing for your Mum, there are not many people like you left on this planet and you should really give yourself a huge pat on the back.
The society we live in today is so far removed from how it should be, and how it used to be.
I don't think it's a mistake, I think it was designed like this, I think the separation starts and birth, in the hospital when the first thing they do is cut the chord and take the baby away to be stuck with needles under intense lighting, I believe this separation continues in school.
Which is why we home birth and home educate our children to try and keep the connection.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
I hope and pray that your mother makes a full recovery.

Yes, you are so right @markwhittam.

Society is completely off track!

I appreciate your compliment more than you can imagine. Yes some days are indeed really hard to get through.

Safe travels for you and your family's next journey! I look forward to reading more about it soon in your next post.

lots of love to you and your wife
@mysticlilly16

Oh @markwhittam
Yes, I know what you mean - we would have said more. But is is like it is and I am convinced, they felt it in their hearts.
And now show and tell the love for all your familymembers daily. ღ

Thank you @tabea I hope you are right :)
I will do my best to make it count.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

That is really nice, I can't even imagine 5 generations together like that. My grandparents passed years back, many before my son was born. He is 7 now, so I don't see more than 4 generations possible in out family.

That's still good going with 4 generations, we only had 5 for a less than a year.
Thanks again for your support :)

Hugs...
I am lucky to have my grandparents and great-grandparents too and my son his grandparents and 2 great grandmothers.
Sometimes I wake up wanting to call my grandmother as it was my usual custom when I had a dream I wanted to tell her about.
In this world of go, go, go we should remember to make time for our family more than we do.

Lovely post.

That's great, your son is very lucky :)
Yes I agree we really have to appreciate our family in this fast world.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I wish you and yours a lovely day!

This is an amazing post. Such a breath of fresh air after reading all those post writing about money and investments. Congratulations on your family and may your grandmother rest in peace!

Wow thank you very much, I am glad I could provide you with a breath of fresh air. lovely comments like this make it all worth it :) have a lovely day/night

My grandparents all died when I was young, but I've always been very close with my parents. It's so wonderful having them close by now that I have a family of my own. And it's nice that, with my dad going through serious health issues at the moment, I can be nearby to help and show him how loved he is.

Good looking family, @markwhittam!

It's great that you are so close to your Parents, and that you can be there when they need you most, my step Dad is in the hospital at the moment on life support but I am 3000miles away, that's why I have decided to do posts about family this week. I hope for the best outcome for you father and my step Dad.

thanks for your input @lesliestarrohara

Bless
