My Florida Sunsets #15

in #life8 years ago (edited)

I hadn't been to The Celery Field's in a few weeks and it looked like there was going to be a good sunset a few nights ago, so I decided to go.  I always like getting out in nature and The Celery Fields is the perfect place, it is only about a 7 minute drive from my house.  The Celery Fields is over 300 acres with many trails and lakes to enjoy.  When they made the lakes deeper for flood control, the county built a big hill that is about 60 feet tall.  This is one of the best places to get a workout or run in, in Sarasota.

On the way to The Celery Fields I passed by a field with many cows in it.  I stopped to say hi to them.  They didn't seem to care that I was there.  If I had some food they would like, I bet they would come over to me.

There were some birds, Cattle Egrets, hanging around the cows.  They eat the bugs that the cows stir up when they are eating the grasses.

I continued to drive to The Celery Fields, where I parked at the Sarasota, Audubon Nature Center parking lot.  I thought I would climb the hill to get the best view of the sunset.  Here is a picture of the Nature Center I took when I was about a third of the way up the hill.  I will be doing a post on this unique building soon.

Here I am a the top of the hill. Below you can see one of the trails and the lakes beyond.  There are many great trails to walk on, or run on at this hill.

I liked the framing of this picture with the palm trees on each side.  While I was on top of the hill, I did a Facebook live.  Many of my friend that live up north love to see the Florida sunsets as they languish in the cold weather and snow.

Here are a couple of pine trees that were planted a few years ago, they will be big in 20 or 30 years from now. I hope I am around to see that.

Another grouping of palm trees.  So, which picture do you like the best?

The sun ultimately went behind some clouds and the sunset was not as spectaculary as I thought it could have been.  Oh well I will come again and again.

Nice tale, where's the celery? I think I was out there a long time ago and just curious if there is any wild celery growing now. I like the palm trees that frame the sunset best. Also the cow. They are really cooler than most people realize. Humans could use a lesson in chillin' from cows.

Lovely sunset and makes the Celery Fields look like a resort area!

Amazing...the cow shocked me for a seconds!its moving. Perfectly shoots for sunset 🌅. I like the first sunset which is exactly behind the trunk of trees which make it looks like the trees on fire 🔥.

Thanks, glad you like the pictures.

Indeed! Especially the fire like photos. Hopefully I can capture awesome sun set soon.

Very nice photography....

The biggest cliche in photography is sunrise and sunset.
some how they are always new. Regular cliches don't manage that
these are awesome though

5,500 mi from you... :)

ooohh! This is very beautiful! I love sunsets! My favorite is the one with the pine trees. It looks magical! Like it is glowing from the inside. Nice shots!!!

Thanks, glad you like it!

Really nice photos. The place looks so calm and relaxed. I am going to take some shots of where I am as well. The visuals are completely different but also very relaxing.
