First training of the Samurai
The first samurai training was to lower the mind above the navel.
In Japan, that center was called "hara", and the samurai were trained to bring the mind to the "hara", otherwise they were not allowed to fight.
Samurai was a different man, a different being because his direction was different. They said that when you fight there is no time. The mind needs time to calculate it to work.
"Hara" works timeless. Then his fight is intuitive, not intellectual. Before you attack him, he will know it. It's a certain subtle feeling in the "hara", not in the head.
Sometimes it happens that the two samurai fight, then it's a problem to win each other. No one can be declared a winner, it is in some ways impossible, because you can not attack such a man. Before you try it, he will know it.

This picture is really impressive. Samurai was amazing warriors. Using his life to his katana. Sometimes they reminds me the other great warriors like the templars or vikings, and many more. The best of them were able to transcend fear, what a bloody and spiritual way to live... This is just fascinating.
Yes, exactly :)
