Hopefully BTC decide against segwit 2x to avoid another unwanted hard fork. Instead they should just wait for segwit to go live and then work on the lightning network to greatly increase transaction speeds. Doing this won't really help the high fees but that is where complimentary cryptos like Litecoin and Dash can start to fit into the picture for smaller and cheaper transactions. The crypto space is hard enough to understand for beginners as is, and in my opinion having a bunch of different Bitcoins really isn't helping the crypto cause as a whole. Just my 2 cents...
