About people and friends

Over time, people and things in our lives get new faces and new meanings. Or maybe, in time, we even change and look at things and people with other eyes.
With time, some people are approaching, and others are breaking up, because the way they see themselves is no longer the same, or the deeds of each one reveal aspects that can no longer be tolerated.
Every passing year leaves me with fewer friends. Some people regret it, others I'm glad to leave behind. And yet, every friend I lose leaves me a disappointment that I can not cure and that seriously affects my confidence in people, and sometimes in myself.

There's a curious thing about people. I'm getting more and more naked. They're looking for something that I feel is missing, but I can not find it because they do not know exactly what that is. They lose each other, they get away, they hurt themselves. I lose the meaning of friendship and feel more and more lonely.

Over time, I've learned things about people and friends. Having a phonebook full of names and phone numbers, which you use only when you send holiday messages and interact with Facebook only through the Like and Comment options, does not mean you have many friends. Friends are not you who just promise, and when the promise comes, there are people or things more important than you, and you realize that you are never a priority.
Friends are not the people who always amuse you in front of other people, even if they are sometimes among those who help you when you need it.
Friends are too few people. Sometimes, you realize that the only real friend you only have is you. And there comes a time when you realize that loneliness is just a state of mind, because you can feel yourself even when you are always surrounded by people.

Friendship does not mean, therefore, a number of people. Friendship is a kind of being, it's a feeling, a second nature. Not all people know to be friends, as not all people know to be simply ... people.
