TODAY'S VOLUNTARY WORK FEBRUARY 26, 2017
I didn't have enough sleep last night because I was steeming and early this morning I volunteered for Hong kong University's research for the migrant domestic worker's financial behaviour. It was a survey on how migrant workers spend their money for a specific length of time. Actually, it was quite a personal survey but an exclusive one that only the researchers would know. It took us more than two hours to finish the survey and games. The game was part of the financial behaviour, it was a mix of investment in stock market, lottery and savings. I was very hungry when we were done but I got paid HK$192 for my behaviour in the games which I didn't expect besides the bonuses that's on their way in two weeks time.
From there, we had our lunch and went to the Philippine Consulate General's Office for PLUDW-HK's (Progressive Labor Union of Domestic Workers presentation of PAOS (POST ARRIVAL ORIENTATION SEMINAR) which is intended for the newly arrived workers, those who had been here for one to three months. They were also briefed on how to save money, not to be fooled by the loan shark. how to adopt in their work, relationship with the employer, adjustment period that they needed in order to cope with their work.
