This pretty brown girl might be squeakers mom. There are two that look very similar.
Squeaker still thinks that I am edible and keeps pecking me. Have to keep working with him to stop it. It could hurt a lot once he gets bigger.
Brown girl is checking out the collards I am growing for them in the cage. It is amazing how far they can reach in to nibble on the greens.

try spraying him with a water bottle each time he pecks you ...

@tygertyger, good idea :)
but usually he comes when my hands are full with food and such. He is getting better :)

Is this one a Wyandotte?

@nateonsteemit, I don't know. Mine are all mixed backyard special breed :)

Love the feathered diamond effect. Very pretty.

thank you, kind Sir :)

Hey, @mariannewest! We don't have any chickens, so I can only sympathize with the pecking problem. I hope you can resolve it because I can just imagine what kinds of perforations Squeaker will be able to make when he is older. Velocity and size both.

We do, however, have a one-year-old granddaughter who now has four front teeth (two on top and two on the bottom). She likes to bite things, including fingers and forearms and pretty any other limb or appendage that might get in range.

I don't suppose using the water spray bottle on her would work? :)

hahaha - I think it would totally work!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

I definitely need something to get her attention with. She doesn't answer to her name very well when she's laser focused on what she's doing (I don't think she quite self-identifies by name yet, anyway), and telling her some variation of "No," "Stop," or "Don't do that," works as about as well as I imagine it does on Squeaker :)

Yup!! I think kids don't hear "No" or "don't" at any age. They hear - do more LOL
