The Celali rebellion is the name given to all the revolts in the Ottoman state between the 16th and 17th centuries. The causes of these rebellions are corruption of the Ottoman rulers and high taxes. At some times the number of rebels was 20,000. These rebels have begun to make bandits at some time, and a lot of villagers have plundered the village. These revolts were suppressed in the 17th century due to the harsh stance of the Ottoman Empire. At least 20000 people have been killed by these rebellions.
