Tameide Hospital removed all sugary snacks and sodas from the menu, taking the decision to remove all sugar added to the food for the visitors and health workers.

According to DHA, Please be aware that drinks from the hospital restaurant are limited to only tea, coffee, milk and water.

The decision was welcomed by campaigners who called other hospitals similar implementations.

Speaking to The Guardian, Tam Fry, president of the National Obesity Forum, said, "It was late for such a decision. I believe this decision should be followed by every patient, I will follow. The Ministry of Health is acting very slow in implementing such a decision, "he said.

Stating that Tameide Hospital's new plan was "excellent", Fry celebrated the hospital management because of his decision.

Steve Morton of the United Kingdom's Northwest Community Health Center said: "It is great to see that one of the local hospitals is taking the initiative to solve the obesity problem in the country." Large employers are increasingly looking for healthy food and restricting their healthier options, such as sugar snacks, they can be a perfect example of what they encourage their health to think about. "

Simon Smith, the head of the hospital restaurant, is known as "one of the few chefs in the NHS with dietary training."

"At that time the menu was a normal North dish, so we tried to offer light meals such as mushroom saute served with couscous instead of cakes and pastries that people are accustomed to, but it is popular and carbohydrates low in terms of level, high in terms of protein, so we encourage healthy eating ".
