Intasa, Galician runner-up
The Emevé of Lugo showed his excellent level of form and, as Galician representative in the Men's Volleyball Superliga, did not miss the crown of the Copa Galicia. The final phase was played in the A Cachada pavilion, in Boiro, and the champions gave no respite to Intasa de San Sadurniño, who won the runners-up championship. The team from Lugo got a place in the decisive match after beating Voley Dumbría, who defended the title, in their semifinal. For their part, Charly Suarez's side did their bit against the other afternoon favourites, the hosts of Rotogal Boiro. The Lugo showed their class and, although the San Sadurniño side stood up to the challenge, they did not decant any sets, 25-16, 25-17 and 15-19. The Copa Galicia marks the end of the pre-season for Charly Suarez's side, who will try to return to the national volleyball elite as soon as possible. The league will start this weekend visiting the field of Calasancias A Coruña. "The preseason has gone well, at the end the teams of our league that we have faced have always won. We lost against Emevé, who is superior to us in category and have a better squad. In the home tournament we were perhaps more competitive, in the autonomic one it was more difficult for us to enter the game. But I'm leaving with a good feeling, we're trying to surprise ourselves," the coach said.
The league start will serve to continue putting the machinery to work before the second day in which they will see Boiro again. "El Calasancias, a priori, is one of the most affordable rivals in the League and will serve us to continue coupling. For example, our Colombian central defender -the international Joan Ferney Jaraba- has only been playing for a week", said the coach.
