VIEW FROM SQUASSUX LANDING

At the end of Beaver Dam Rd in the town of Brookhaven is Squassux Landing. It is just outside the boundaries of Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge. An old Indian spot where canoes made their landings. The river runs through an extensive marsh land and Squassux is one of the few places the river touches dry land.

The town has made a nice walkway and dock on the Carmans river. Here you can get a view looking south to where the river meets the Great South Bay. The river and Refuge attracts many species of birds.
