The Next Major Top in the Dollar Index Will be in 2033.
In this report, I cover the early market action from London on Monday, February 25th, 2019. I look briefly at the precious metals, the stock market, the dollar, the bond market and the price of crude oil.
Today I look at the Dollar Index and how it has performed through the decades and how past cycles are pointing to a major secular top only in 2033 and that before we get there we will see another major low. At the same time I show how following the DXY or Dollar Index might be helpful in the short term in determining precious metals prices but that in the long term it is almost irrelevant.
My conclusion is that if you stick to the dollar and the major fiat currencies in the long term you will lose out massively in terms of purchasing power unlike with precious metals.
