Ever see the flick, Willow? It's a fantasy flick (complete with novel series written by George Lucas) about a Nellwyn farmer who yearns to practice magic. His children find a baby floating in the river and they save the infant with the intent of returning her to her people, the Daikini.

There's a scene at a festival where the village elder is seeking an apprentice by holding up his hand and instructing the hopefuls to choose a finger. The titular character hesitates before choosing one of the High Nellwyn's outstretched fingers.

The concept of our own inherent power (as inspired by Willow) acted as muse.
