A cleft in the rock
At the base of this cliff face the rocks are parting under the weight of the mountain above.
A large cleft has opened up but it hasn't collapsed yet.
The next fissure is starting to form already.
At this section it is wide enough and stable enough that the hiking path goes through it.
This cleaving of the rocks is quite normal for this type of rock. Its a columnar basalt.

Ciertamente. Son procesos que a pesar de que a nosotros nos parecen lentos para la naturaleza son muy rápidos. Es similar al movimiento de las capas tectónicas que se van desplazando centímetros o incluso milímetros anuales.
En el tiempo y espacio del Universo esto sucede muy rápido.
