We Have Sprouts!!!

There is nothing like the joy from seeing your seeds break the surface of the ground...well, maybe a new baby, or baby chickens...but I do love them all!! Above is Baby Celery, from the reclamation project. The reclaimed scallions are there, too!

Well, after I saw those, I got really excited!!! My homesteading gardening friends will understand this only too well! So, I got these in their peat pots, set up in the greenhouse. It's just the beginning of the seeding adventure, though...I really have a lot of seeds!

And, I got the Rooftop Garden all cleaned up and planted...the greenery that you see poking up would be the reclaimed onions' butts, which will end up being leek-like. Those are intermingled with seeds of Brandywine Pink Heirloom Tomatoes and Rutgers Heirloom Tomatoes. Oh, and there's the pot of scallions that I shared with you when they were, first, on the kitchen windowsill.

And then, my friends, I ran out of dirt! I haven't even touched the new fabric pots!!! Lots to do, lots to do...so, with that I'll leave you, fellow Steemians!

Hahahaha! Good one!

Yayy!! Grow babies, grow!! :D

I can feel your excitement through the screen!

I was the same way this morning when I peeked at my sunflowers! We have sprouts!!!

It was almost a jumping up and down moment! :D

I feel you! Watching baby sprouts come up is so joyful! I just recently started, and I can't believe I love gardening so much. I'm growing some heirloom blackwine tomatoes right now! Growing my first fruit also feels amazing (3 tomato fruits already on the way). I just found out that one of the 3 plants I'm growing has a lot of powdery mildew (not so sure if this is the fungus), but it's getting bad fast. I will begin treatment today.

I love tomatoes! This year, I've got a few heirlooms...Rutgers, Brandywine Pink, Black Krim, Cherokee Purple and Green Zebra seeded...then I went over to Johnny's Seeds and fell in love with an organic blush tomato...it's on the way. Do you plant your wilted tomatoes?

What do you mean by wilted? The weakest ones? :)

I sprayed a sodium bicarbonate, oil and soap solution on them when they were youngd and it burned them because it was too strong.. I had it coming :(

Yay! Can’t wait for planting!

Me too! The large pots at the top hold herbs, and will be sold as is when they get growing good.
I've got a few more pots the same size coming in, with some more seed discs...Johnny's Seeds has those, so convenient, prefectly spread seeds with out waste. They'll make a good addition to the Porch Stand come Spring.
