The Truth About The Steemit Community
This is something I've been meaning to discuss for a while. Before I do, I want to say that I love Steemit and believe it will continue to get better. However, it is important that I address an issue regarding Steemit and what may be hindrance to the community.
There are a two things about this community that I feel are detrimental and need to be resolved immediately. If it isn't, it will create an environment that makes growth impossible for minnows like myself.
Followers
Many of us have been exposed to people who seem really excited to follow anyone they see on Steemit. Although this isn't a bad thing per se, most of these people are just looking for follow backs; they don't actually plan on engaging in any post by their followings. This behavior prevents unestablished bloggers or minnows from gaining prolific followers, which will have a detrimental effect on the community's potential growth. These followers are also sometimes very fake as I will mention below.
Post Skimmers
This one is really bad and also very irritating. I recently saw a post by @safwenrekik that was about him finally overcoming cancer. Most of the comments were congratulating his success, but there were a couple that stood out. One particular commentor appeared to not have even read the post. He or she just comments, "Hi, and welcome to steemit...If you are interested in crypto and fun you can follow us for Interesting daily content neverless, we can do the same for you! Enjoy your steemit ride!" and another went like this, "Welcome to family :) Follow me back and I will surprised you on August 1." Why do they think it's appropriate to completely ignore the content of a post? They made a comment that seemed nice, but was really just pretyped and disingenuous.
Final Thoughts
I know these issues cannot be resolved easily and that it would require the perpetrators to stop their behavior, but if no one calls them out, they won't ever stop. Just know this: It's important that we flag these kind of comments in order to deter people from posting them.
I was going to post something similar to this myself. I agree with your concerns, and share them myself. Ive been wondering what could be done to remedy this? Lots of people are either not getting involved, or leaving comments that have no relation to the article.

Totally totally agree with your opinion, I can agree more actually and I have even more things to say for those guys. I just don't know what we can do, I am trying some times to answer in one of their posts with some feedback to help them understand that what they are doing is not actually viable but they don't understand it. They see their followers grow and they thing that what they are doing will make them successful on the platform. It's actually fun, and sad at the same time, to go in the comments section in the profile of those people and you will see 20 or even more copy-paste posts posted in the last hour!

Is there someone we can ask? They are not doing something bad, they are just annoying, so I don't think that we can report them
I don't really know. I've just started considering taking action against these people. I think we can consider it spam and flag them.
I think we should ask someone with more authority on this platform to tell us his opinion

Yes it does affect. Most of them are new on steemit and wanted follower so bad
Yet they don't engage in other peoples post.
