THE DRAWBACK of steemit

in #steemit8 years ago (edited)

even if it is a great concept, is based entirely on LUCK.

profesor Yuval Noah Harari in his book Sapiens A Brief History of Humankind shows that we as individuals  tend to organize in groups matching our goals, our interests or our passions. nothing new up until now, but the problem with these groups is that they cannot get bigger than 150 individuals. if the comunity is bigger thar 150 individuals they will split and make separate parties. he emphasise that we cannot interact CLOSELY and PERSONALLY with more than 150 people at a certain point in time in order to sustain a whatever cause.

so now, lets get back to the steem issue....

is very hard to obtain a mass of 150 people to form a group that sustain each other even if thay have the same interests in this kind of comunity. SO, ONLY LUCK IS THE FACTOR THAT GETS A POST WITH VOTES UP UNTIL THAT POST BECOMES RELEVANT AND IS PUT IN FRONT IN SEARCHES.

I think you are approaching it wrong. There is no need for group dynamics here. It's an author/audience relation, which by definition may involve hundreds/thousands/millions of people (as audience).

yup..but would they see it? it is most likely they will miss it...this is where the luck commes in.that is my point..that they will miss it!

even great researchers have a hard time finding usefull and reliable information in this big bag of digital data

Very good points. I think there will be a feature needed to serve that purpose, I think its a necessity. There will be groups based on ethnicity , language, interests, needs, goals etc. That is going to be the feature that will help steemit go global.

even so, up until a post gets "steem" with votes even if it is great can die into oblivion

I would say steemit is still at the beginning of its nature, I believe the devs will find solutions to problems as they go.

they have to..and i really hope they do because i would not like this ideea to go sideways into tabloid content for rating

just one question ..how do i upload photos or links on a post because i do not manage to do that.tx

Use a public site to upload and copy that link to you post.

That is true, btw have you read the developers articles on Mutual Aid Societies ? http://bytemaster.github.io/update/2015/12/31/Mutual-Aid-Society/

Luck has nothing to do with Steem.
