Atlas demonstrates ground-based refueling capabilities
Members of the Fuels Support Team, part of the RAF-based Expeditionary Logistics Squadron, deployed to RAF Brize Norton to develop an Air Landed Aircraft refueling system using the A400M ‘Atlas’. The team took fuel from a multi-engine aircraft like the Atlas and transferred it to a tactical power plant to provide forward support to aircraft deployed from their main operating bases. The 30th Battalion was quoted by Wing Commander Patton. "This is a very exciting opportunity for Atlas. With our partners, we are constantly working to improve and prove A400M Tactical Skills at concerts. Working with the No 1 Expeditionary Logistics Squadron, it is important that the A400M's capabilities be demonstrated wherever they are in the world.
