WHAT I WISH I KNEW WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL - A lesson to learn from.

It is important to know that there are some things that we need to learn at every stage of our lives which is capable of affecting our lives positively and if such things are not learnt or achieve can affect our journey to attain the higher ground of success.

Education is of immense important in someone’s life. By virtue of education, we are able to interact with so many people and also set our pace in the topmost top of life. But also being educated is not normally mean being successful, because here we can see master holder working for a school certificate holder (so funny). And at the same time you can also find somebody that is not even educated, no formal education but he/she will make it big in life. You will see somebody that learn handwork make it big in life and those that they started the journey together that chose to be educated will struggle to earn living. The question of “is it that education is a waste of time or what”? Will surely come.

Being educated is never a waste of time because the advantages thereof are greater than its disadvantages (if at all there is one). There is a saying that “if you think education is too costly, then try illiteracy and see what it will cost you at the end of the day. If education is not important why will someone just decided to waste money on it? Good to know.

But what are those things that one will wish he/she knew during the process of education or when in school?

It is good to know that after spending 6years in Primary School, 6years in Secondary School and 4, 5, or 6 years in the university base on your Discipline, most people never have the knowledge of how to be their own boss rather they have the knowledge of the industries, companies and parastatals they can work with base on their discipline, neglecting what they can do with the knowledge they acquired.

Many people out there that could have been making it big are still out there looking for job. That is why you will see somebody that study Business Administration will be searching for job for more than four or five years. So, what is the essence? You will see somebody that graduated from the School of Agriculture in Nigeria also looking for job (In Nigeria fa, that is blessed in Agriculture).

Truly entrepreneurship is taught in the schools but how to be an entrepreneur, the steps to take, the resources needed to start small is not harmer on. It is high time people start to know more about what they can do with the knowledge they are acquiring right when in school and let our schools out there plant same in them.

Most people are still kept under the captivity of looking for job, rather than starting with what they have, though I was once a victim of such to some extent before I finally realized what I can do rather than what any organization can offer me. The truth is that, no organization can pay for your services no matter how much they offer you comparing with the time that you spent in helping and building the organization.

The good news is that you don’t have to wait until you graduate from school before you have your own business, there are some businesses that the best place to start them is when you are still in school, because you don’t need to pay anything before you promote and advertise it to mass number of students.You can start now and make it big.
