Sujud sahwi

From Abu Hurairah, the Messenger of Allah said,

إذا نودى بالأذان أدبر الشيطان له ضراط حتى لا يسمع الأذان فإذا قضى الأذان أقبل فإذا ثوب بها أدبر فإذا قضى التثويب أقبل يخطر بين المرء ونفسه يقول اذكر كذا اذكر كذا. لما لم يكن يذكر حتى يظل الرجل إن يدرى كم صلى فإذا لم يدر أحدكم كم صلى فليسجد سجدتين وهو جالس.
. "When the call to prayer, the demon turns away while he does not hear the call to prayer. When the call to prayer is finished, then he returns. When iqomah pronounced, the devil turned again. When the iqama is finished, the demon returns, it will pass between a person and his lust. He said, "Remember this, remember that for something that he did not remember before, until he always did not know how many rakats he prayed. If one of you does not know how many rakats he is praying, let him prostrate twice in a sitting state. "(Narrated by Bukhari 1231 and Muslim 389)

Abu Sa'id Al Khudri, the Messenger of Allah said,

إذا شك أحدكم فى صلاته فلم يدر كم صلى ثلاثا أم أربعا فليطرح الشك وليبن على ما استيقن ثم يسجد سجدتين قبل أن يسلم فإن كان صلى خمسا شفعن له صلاته وإن كان صلى إتماما لأربع كانتا ترغيما للشيطان.
. "If any of you hesitate in his prayer, and does not know how many rakats he prays, three or four rak'ah then cast doubt, and take that for sure. Then prostrate twice before greeting. If he turns out to pray five rak'ahs, his prostration has fulfilled his prayers. Then if it turns out that his prayers are four rak'ahs, then his prostration is as an affront to the devil. "(Narrated by Muslim 571)
