Kemerdekaan | Freedom
Kemerdekaan ini selalu kita rayakan
kita naikkan sang saka merah putih
berkibar indah di udara,
kita tersenyum, tertawa, kadang menangis
mengenang pahlawan yang telah pergi.
Namun di lain waktu
di ujung pelosok kampung terjauh
para saudara memerih dada
meneteskan air mata
jurang-jurang menganga
melintasi sungai tanpa jembatan,
dan perjalanan ditempuh antara ilalang.

This freedom we always celebrate
we raise the red and white saka
fluttering beautifully in the air,
we smile, laugh, sometimes cry
remembering the heroes who had gone.
But at other times
at the far end of the remote village
the brothers are chest piercing
shed a tear
gaping chasms
across the river without a bridge,
and travels between the weeds.
