History:
In 1952, the then name of Bangladesh was East Pakistan. East Pakistan and present-day Pakistan were together. The language of East Pakistan was Bengali. The language of present-day Pakistan is Urdu. A demand was made to West Pakistan that East Pakistan's state language be Bengali. At that time, several activists protesting for the Bengali language were martyred in the firing by the West Pakistani army. Later, East Pakistan's name was Bangladesh, and the state language was Bengali. At that time, a memorial pillar was built to commemorate the martyrs of the language movement.

Every year on February 21, our country's students and various organisations commemorate the martyrs by placing flowers at the memorial pillar. Every year on February 21, the people of Narayanganj city come to this Shaheed Minar and commemorate the martyrs by placing flowers. The Shaheed Minar is located in the heart of the town. Artist Hamidur Rahman designed the Shaheed Minar. In the picture, the middle pillar is taller among the three white pillars, and the two side pillars are slightly smaller. A circular red design is made between the three pillars, which represents the blood of the language martyrs.

Every day from afternoon till night, students and people of the city come and sit at the foot of Shaheed Minar. I went to the Shaheed Minar this evening and saw many people. I took a few pictures. The Shaheed Minar is decorated with lights. A space is kept in front of the Shaheed Minar because on February 21, people from all over the city bring flowers. There are many shops around the Shaheed Minar. People come to visit and eat the local food of our country in the evening. The local food of our country includes traditional food from the rural areas. There are also toy shops for children. Since Shaheed Minar is in the middle of the city, it is a resting place for pedestrians. I eat the local food of our country. Here, food is sold as a floating restaurant in a van.

In addition to local food, some Chinese food is available. In addition, different types of tea are sold. Every evening, the number of tourists increases so much that it is challenging to walk next to the memorial pillar.
