What I learned from rock climbing in 2 years 攀岩两年的心得

I have now been climbing for over two years. These are some of the things I have learned from rock climbing. I thought I would share them with you. Feel free to share any more ideas that you have.
攀岩已经两年了。从攀岩中学到一些道理，跟大家分享，希望能抛砖引玉。

• Many people experience the same difficulty learning, not just you.

  很多人学习时都会碰到同样的困难, 不是只有你。

When I started climbing, I made the mistake of smashing myself against the wall when I fell, not knowing how to use my hands to protect myself or how to use my feet to walk down horizontally safely. I thought I was stupid but then I witnessed other people climb and make the same mistakes. Don’t feel bad if you make a mistake. Learn from it.

我刚开始攀岩，坠落时总会身体碰到墙上，而不会用手跟脚去保护自己，也不会慢慢横著走下来。我以为我很笨，但后来看别的新手爬时，也是犯同样的错误。学习时遇到困难，别怀疑自己能力，从错误中学习就好。

• There are many ways to solve a problem.

  一个问题有很多种解法

I tried to climb a difficult section using one method that I witnessed, but I failed every time. I tried to increase my physical strength in order to make it, but continued to fail. One day one of my friends came and climbed it using a different way that I did not think of. I tried using his method and immediately got past that point. There are many ways to solve a problem, be creative.

我以前每次攀岩都只能爬到一个中途点，就卡住了。依照指导老师教的方法，怎么爬都爬不上去。后来看到一位朋友用另外一个方法，一下子就爬上去了。我试着用他的方法爬，也是第一次就成功。天无绝人之路，一个问题用一个办法无法解决时，会有另一个办法。

• Take one step at a time

  做事一步一步来

Before you start climbing, you might look at the wall and think, there’s no way I can get up there. However, if you just think about where to take the first step, it’s not that hard. Once you’ve taken that step, then you think about the next step. You can summarise rock climbing as: put your hand up, put your feet up, and repeat. Don’t try to reach too far, take the smallest step possible, but don’t stop at the same point or give up.

在开始爬之前，你可能抬头望着壁顶，想着我怎么可能爬上去。千里之行始于足下，如果你把注意力放在第一步，你就会觉得，没那么难。第一步上去以后，再想第二步。一步一步来。从最简单的角度来看，攀岩就是 1)手举起来，2)脚抬起来，3)重复以上步骤。 不要妄想一步登天，但也不要举步不前，或半途而废。

• Looks can be deceiving

  不要被外表所蒙骗

Sometimes a climb may look easy when you watch someone else climb it. Only when you climb it yourself you find out that it’s not as easy as it looks. But the reverse can also be true, sometimes you may surprise yourself and climb something that looks very difficult. Try it and find out for yourself.

光看人家攀岩无法知道难易，要自己爬才知道。有时候看人家爬觉得很容易，但自己爬却发现很难。相反的，有时候看人家爬很难，但自己爬却出乎意料的简单。只有亲身尝试，才能真正了解。

• Believe in yourself and don’t think about failure

  相信自己，不要想到失败

When you are in the zone to keep going up, when your mind is clear and there is no noise, when you are at your full concentration and focus, when you believe in yourself and know that you can do it, that is the best state. If you think you’re going to fail, you’ve already failed. Only people who keep trying and not give up can get to the top.

当你全神贯注的攀岩，对自己充满自信，相信你能够爬到顶，那就是最好的状态。如果你想你会失败，那你就无法坚持下去，注定失败。只有努力不懈，持之以恒的人才能够成功登顶。

• Accidents can happen, take precautions

  意外可能发生，做好预防措施

Not everyone wears helmets when climbing outdoors. However my dad forced me to wear a helmet. Not longer after, I did a back flip while falling. If I didn’t have a helmet I probably would have cracked my head. I’ve also had falling pebbles crash onto my helmet and made a large noise. You don't know what's going to happen in the future, even if you are confidence in your plan, you still have to take precautions to prevent accidents.

有些人攀岩不戴安全帽，但我爸叫我一定要戴。有一次我竟然后空翻跌下来，头撞岩璧，好险有戴安全帽，否则头都裂了。还有一次竟然有碎石砸到我的安全帽上，声音响的不得了，吓我一跳。世事无常，尽管我们有成功的方法、信心和恒心，还是要采取预防措施，避免憾事发生。
