PHP lesson 1 - starting and stopping an Apache server using XAMPP

What Will I Learn?

• You will learn how to turn your Windows machine into an Apache web server to test your PHP code.
• You will learn how to use command prompt to navigate to the xampp directory and start the web server.
• You will learn how to use the XAMPP control panel to start / stop the Apache and MySQL modules.
• You will learn how to go to the start page of your web server and see if it is active.

Description

In this series of lessons you will learn the basics of the PHP language, such as the syntax, variables, string methods, if statements, loops, functions arrays and so on. You will also learn how to process data obtained from HTML forms and connect to a MySQL database to either insert or extract data.
