One of my students said to me: "Sir, you're not very Australian."

I frowned and said: "Why?"

She said: "I saw you doing Karate in your front yard."

I replied: "It's not Karate, it's Kung Fu. But anyway, continue, why is that not Australian?"

She said: "Aussies usually do it in their garage".

一个学生在学校跟我说: 「老师，你很不像澳洲人。」

我说:「为什麽?」

她说:「我看你在你家门前练空手道。」

我说:「不是空手道，是功夫。那又如何?」

她说:「澳洲人通常在车库里练。」

I usually bring Chinese food for lunch to work (Rice, noodles, etc.). However, one day I brought pizza for lunch to work.

Naturally, I put the pizza in my bowl, and started eating it with chopsticks.

My colleagues couldn't stop laughing at me. "Eddie, are you eating pizza with chopsticks?"

在公司我通常午餐吃的是中餐，像白饭配菜，炒麵等。但今天我带了比萨。

我想都没想，把比萨放到碗里，用筷子吃了起来。

我的同事笑得合不拢嘴:「爱德华，你是在用筷子吃比萨吗?」

I was camping in the mountains with some high school students.

The camp supervisor told us: "We're going to drink some powdered milk for breakfast."

The students were all grossed out. "I'm not drinking powdered milk!" They said.

I had no problem with it. "I grew up on powdered milk! Let's do it."

The students looked at me with disbelief.

Then the camp supervisor started mixing the powder with cold water.

I froze. "Uhh, I usually drink it with hot water."

It didn't taste good.

我跟一群高中生一起去深山里露营。

露营领导跟我们说: 「早餐我们喝奶粉。」

学生们突然觉得噁心。「我们可不喝奶粉。」

我倒觉得没问题。「我从小喝奶粉的。喝吧!」

学生用不敢相信的眼光看著我

然後，领导开始用冷水泡奶粉。

我愣了。我说，我通常是用热水。

冷水泡奶粉真难喝。

It was our first ever Halloween after immigrating.

Some kids came knocking on the door. My dad answered. The kids yelled "Trick or treat!"

Because they were dressed up in ripped clothes, my dad thought they were beggars.

So he gave them some fruit.

The kids looked puzzled.

二十四年前，我们一家人第一次在国外过万圣节。

一些小孩子来我家门前敲门。我爸开门。小孩子叫:「Trick or Treat!」

我爸看这些小孩的衣服很破烂，以为他们是乞丐。

所以我爸给了他们一些水果。

小孩们一脸困惑的表情。
