Endangered Species- Fiery-Billed Aracari (Pteroglossus frantzii)
Hi Steemians.... Maybe we are familiar with Costa Rica, is a country in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west, the Caribbean Sea to the east, and Ecuador to the south of Cocos Island.
In this region found many species of beautiful birds, with various colors, One of the most famous is the Pteroglossus bird.
Leuser mountain forest has a height of about 2884 meters above sea level, which has humid weather, and cold. End of 2016, one of my friends, getting to know one tourist from Australia, named Richard. invited me to enter the vast Leuser mountain forests. As always, with emergency equipment, I took some pictures of birds in this forest.
One of my main concerns is, Pteroglossus bird, this bird is found in other forest areas in Aceh, such as seulawah forest, while for the Fiery-Billed Aracari (Pteroglossus frantzii) species, very rarely, even the first time I see.
You can read it in the quote below:
HABITAT
The Collared Aracari is common in Caribbean lowland and premontane forest. In cannot live in areas that are heavily deforested, and is not usually above elevations of 1,000 m (or 1,200 m in the southeastern part of Costa Rica). On the Pacific side of Costa Rica, this bird is found only rarely except in more southern forests of the country.
The Fiery-billed Aracari lives in forest similar to the home of the Collared, but can live at elevations up to 1,500 m. https://www.anywhere.com/flora-fauna/bird/fiery-billed-aracari-collared
