Fly bird, Fly away

Thinking about so many things yesterday with the sad news of the death of my friend from the hood, my pen stopped to pace on the paper as my heart starts to beat fast.
I'm no poet, but this I wrote in respect to all those that fought for the growth and prosperity of the nation.
To all the fallen soldiers,

I saw him fall down with a strike after taking many with him.
Rushed down to him to comfort, to hold, but deep was the pain as he screams.

Take cover! Someone yelled.

The war was thick but we were on the verge of winning.
He held me tight, tighter saying

I'm scared,
Never did I thought it to be this way Take my helmet, it's heavy, it's purpose has it served, I can't wear it no longer.
take my badge 📛 off me, pull out them all out, all the ranks nd achievements means nothing now,
I smile because I've seen the victory.
for its getting dark, yes,
And I'm getting cold, yes,
But fear no longer my friend,
I can see the light calling out to me. I feel the angels calling me. The doors of heaven with His arms stretched fourth welcoming me.
Take my gun, I'll go nowhere with it.
Now I can rest, the war for me is over, peace can flow.
Now the winter can flow white pure without stains of blood.
Now the trees can dance beautifully tall to spring
Now the rivers can flow with its riches and not stained thick.
Tell mama I did brave,
Tell my wife, and my unborn child I did brave
Tell her I did my best,
tell my country I did brave,
tell the world I did brave.
The media won't understand what we face,
The government won't understand this,
When young men fall face before their time.
Tell them I did brave.
And I will see you when I see you.
I am going home.

He coughs and gave it up,
The music was slow, as each one gave his salute.
I'll see you at the other side.

My heart goes to Nigerian soldiers lost in the battle for peace.
