Kindness

Kindness is not very much appreciated in our days. People are more interested in whether the person is intelligent, hard-working, whether he benefits the society, whether it fits into the accepted framework of behavior. But Charles Dickens in "David Copperfield" delightfully said about it: "- And your brother is kind, Pegotti? - I asked prudently. "Oh, how kind!" "Pigotti screamed, raising her hands." Ask yourself this question, remember your many friends and acquaintances, and you will probably be surprised how seldom you can answer it with Pegotti's words.
