Prawns is a type of shrimp that is included in the species Macrobrachium rosenbergii. Prawns have physical traits that are larger than the type of shrimp. Prawns usually live in areas of fresh water that is shallow and this shrimp has now been widely cultivated by farmers.

freshwater shrimp is more easily cultivated than the tiger shrimp and the shrimp the other as the feed is very easy to get if in fresh water, unlike salt water.
