Progressive Classic Of The Day #001: Mitrinique - Earthbound

Mitrinique was formed in 2010 and although they've only had one single out so far they have achieved a remarkable level of success early on. 'Saturday' which was released in 2010 saw many plays and also chart support from Hernan Cattaneo and Eelke Kleijn. Sound Avenue is one of the freshest new labels from Belgium and their first release is Mitrinique's second single entitled 'Earthbound' which comes with 2 great remixes from Argentinean producers Andy Arias and Overtone Watson.

Mitrinique's original begins with a wonderful shuffling rhythm and a deeply hypnotic vibe which sets a great atmosphere straight away. The murky sounding pads the creep their way into the mix at the half way point really set the track apart and give it that unique and almost spiritual presence that is unforgettable. Some subtle chord changes keep the mix quite interesting as well and add to its killer flow and smooth transitions.

Argentinean DJ & producer Andy Arias provides the first 'Earthbound' remix. We're huge fans of Andy here at Release Promo so it's great to see him on such a top notch package. Andy has overhauled the track in spectacular fashion giving it a bit more of a minimal, somewhat trippy vibe. After a spacey sounding breakdown some very cool hypnotic keys fade into the mix to give it a very ominous feel which caps the track off quite nicely.

Overtone Watson closes the package out with a mix that has been storming the Release Promo Hype Chart in recent weeks Making it all the way into the top 10 on the day of its release. some excellent sound design combined with some lovely warped textures and intricate electronics is what has propelled the popularity of this mix to the top, it really is quite spectacular. The strong percussive elements give the track awesome drive and that forceful almost marching type vibe which should rock most intelligent dancefloors with ease! An outstanding first release from Sound Avenue, can't wait to see what they have coming next!
