Marathon runner going for a record. I was a random bystander. Dangerous competition to race with the shark. (video viewing)

in #life7 years ago

On the pier played a few musicians and I stopped, hoping to hear a good song and make a few shots.

Their performance was off the cuff and around them gradually began to gather people to listen to the music.

But my attention switched to the guy standing near the water in a pink shirt. He watched intently for someone, and did a lot of photos.

In the direction of his gaze, I saw a strange picture: on the fairway sailed two canoes. And between them swam in the water two people. One of them was tied an orange buoy.

DSC00616.JPG

It looked strange and incomprehensible for the reason that the river Neva is navigable. Already ahead of the Gulf of Finland and there is a ban on the movement of such small boats (kayaks).

DSC00615.JPG

Later I found out that I saw was the official attempt of the athlete to set a record. The fact that the Neva river has a length of 74 km. And nobody has been able to sail along its entire length.

DSC00614.JPG

The rules of this race are very strict.

  • It can't touch the accompanying kayak.
  • For the entire route, you cannot get out of the water and touch the bottom.
  • Even his food is lowered from a kayak on the water.

This Swimmer-marathon runner Alexey Seredkin. He is a resident of our city. He was accompanied by a support team. in 2016, he tried to swim to cross the English channel. Then he has failed to achieve the goal and across the channel to England . There were big waves. Alex was able to swim only 17 kilometers.

When I saw this race, to the finish line (at the mouth of the river), he remained at approximately 7 kilometers. The water temperature around 10-13 degrees. Left quite a bit to the Gulf of Finland.

DSC00503.JPG

But as soon as they reached the mouth of the Neva, the whole team was arrested by River police. The basis was the violation of rules of navigation. Detained them. Was made the official record. Which was a proof that the athlete has reached the finish line and the record took place. In this official document says that the team crossed the border of the Bay, and that means went through the Neva river to the end.

That's how I became an accidental witness of this unusual tale.

And yet , not too long ago in my feed in Twitter, I read the story of another swimmer. He participated in the race with a shark. It was a 100 meter distance. 23-time Olympic champion Michael Phelps competed with the great white. This competition was organized by the Discovery channel for a week dedicated to sharks. Was filmed a promotional video about it.

But later it turned out that Michael Phelps and the great white shark swam separately from each other. Were then done the video editing on the computer. But looks impressive! It was still a dangerous event. Because the organizers had to force the shark to swim in a straight line trajectory. Attention shark distracted the some man, which is raced on a water bike. If he had done something wrong or lost control, then it could have happened to him misfortune. But all went well. The winner in this race was the shark. Swimmer lost this race. There is another video for your viewing.

That's the kind of stories I wanted to share with you today. I thank you for your attention. Your votes and comments will be very pleasant to me.

What an amazing way of telling both parts of the post Madlen !

U have got skills in writing I believe not everyone can have

I didnot know about the marathon runner Alexey.
But i heared about Micheal Philips but didn't know about how did they manage it with the Shark.

Thanks dear for the post ! 🌹

Thank You, Marwa! If not for that guitar, I would not stay at the berth, and would not have seen what I witnessed such an event. The chain of events... to be in the right place. Fate itself is leading us to something.

Both stories are incredible. I like the video and photos. Thanks.

Welcome, @shirish5 ! I'm glad You were interested in my story. The plot of the first story took place before my eyes. As I already said I was a random bystander. It was amazing!

@madlenfox

Thank you, Francis , for the fact that you read it. I really appreciate Your comment. For me it is much more than the material aspect in the assessment of my posts. I wish You a good day!

Thank you. I always try to add value wherever I can on Steemit. I have been working on bringing more Steemit members to our family. You should be seeing more new names in the coming days on my blog.
It takes some time to get acquainted with our platform. So, I spend time working with them so they can understand what they need to do. They will see my replies and your upvotes too.

I want them to see your excellent work. That will help them to see what is best for them to do.
Whatever it takes. We want Steemit to be number one. And I trust you agree.

Francis

I see no reason to continue my blog.At least until then, until I will be clear and understandable situation. I always thought the platform Steemit a great place to socialize, meet new people, receive interesting and useful information for their development. I saw here a lot of interesting and talented people in different spheres and directions.
It's perfect! I also tried to be sociable, trying to share moments from his life. I tried to participate in contests. I read a lot of blogs. I wrote comments and voted. I'm not a native English speaker, so I try to communicate through my pictures. I had hoped that in this way You will find it easier to understand. I don't want You to understand and took it as a complaint. I tried!!! Feedback is of great importance.
The only way to see progress. But, to my regret, I have to admit defeat. And so I have no moral right to continue. It looks like garbage that does not deserve attention. I'm going to try to read more and more. I will give my vote for the most interesting. I will look for all the fun on Steemit. My voice will go with You, Francis

@madlenfox
Steemit is a great place. But, at times it is a place that we get blindsided by something that we may have done. But, it wasn't an intentional happening.
I followed @andrianna and I loved her dearly. She was so talented and was pretty to look at too.
So, I was kidding with her in words that I understood to be kidding or joking, but she was reading it as a negative comment. So, she stopped following me.
It broke my heart. The last thing I want to do on Steemit is to knowingly hurt someone's feelings. So sad. I pain to this day about that incident. It was my fault.
English was not her first language, and I should have been more careful.
So, we have setbacks from time to time. Sometimes of our own making and maybe at other times by simple human error.
Whatever. I roll on. I cannot give up on something this important. In the future, crypto currencies will be the money of the people. And this continues to be the best opportunity that I know of.
Chug along with me. Together we will make the world a better place to be and some of that will be the help we get with Steemit.

Francis
