Technology has been the talk of the week in steemit due to the engagement challenge. I've read many entries on this topic and today I will be presenting my own views on the topic.

Write an overview of how technology has impacted the world as a whole

Tech and the world!

Modern technology has taken over the world's affairs, there is nothing that is done today without technological inventions.
Technological devices have proved to make life easier, better and even faster and fun.

Technology is used in many aspect of our lives such as learning, transportation, communication, business etc.
Adults as well as children are more than ever dependent on technology, smartphones and computers are now being modified everyday and made easier to handle.

We take advantage of technology all around us, however there is also a great disadvantage of making use of it.

Throughout the duration of this post, I'm going to write my view of how technology affects the children of the world and what measures I've learnt must be taken to control it.

Share with us some of the positivity and negativity of technology in kids' lives.

Positive and negative effects of technology in kid's life

Kids are now known as masters in the use of technology. They know how to operate the technological devices even more than the adults today.

Kids have now been more involved in online activities, video games, social media and so on. Most times they use it for something useful such as making research and doing some assignments, but most times they can spend much time than necessary in less important things such as video games, posting to social networks and more...

Studies has shown that young people who spend much time on social media are likely to be exposed to: * Smartphone addiction * Cyberbullying * Exposure to pornography

Also spending much time on the screen can affect the kids social skills, relationship with others, health and concentration ability.

These and more are the effects of technology on the lives of kids.

How would you rate the impact of technology in kids' life? Highly positive or negative? Explain.

Technology has a very strong impact on children

Highly negative
Because they do not how how to manage and control things, children has become victims to the negative in effects of technology even more than the positive aspect.

We always see children focused on their screen and if they are left unrestrained they can spend all day playing and watching the screen. I myself is also a victim of this sometimes, especially since I know steemit, I tend to spend much time on steemit even when I'm doing other things. This affects me sometimes and if I don't control it I may get addicted.

Can you have control over the exposure of kids to certain technological products? How?"

It can be controlled! How?

Yes, I think every there is a way to control reduce it manage any situation in life.

Although children know much about technology and can access it with ease even more than their parents, the parents should not feel intimidated. The kids still needs their guidance.

The solution may not be to stop them from using those gadgets, but to teach them how to use it.

The following are what might be implemented to be able to control excessive use of the internet:

• Ban the use of devices in dining table

This is very effective, here we are it allowed to use our devices when eating, we use more of our eating time to communicate with each other and that has been very good for us.

Tell the child that he can only pick up the device when everyone is done with eating and the dishes are done. This will prevent him from eating faster than everyone and returning to use his device.

Other things such as the following can also be done to help the kids:

• Prohibiting devices in the child's room overnight
• Discussing proper online conduct with the child
• Teach the child to block inappropriate contents to the extent possible and if possible check his device from time to time

Conclusion

Technology has proved helpful to the world and has impacted many positive things in our lives, we learn everyday by means of it and we can communicate with the world because of it.
Kids must be guided properly, and much time must be reduced in the use of the screen. Thankfully they are not alone, they have helpers who can assist them to make good use of the precious time they have....
