Greetings, beautiful friends of the community. I welcome you all to my homework post for the social studies lesson in the community made by the teacher @udyliciouz. Today I'm going to give my answers to all the assignment questions to the best of my ability.

List and explain the different forms of marriage

There are different forms in which marriage takes place.
The following are the forms of marriage:

• Traditional marriage
• Religious marriage
• Court marriage

Traditional marriage

This is the type of marriage that is performed according to the customs and traditions of the both families. Traditional and cultural laws are taken into consideration during this form of marriage.
This form of marriage involves paying of the bride price to the brides family and fulfilling all the rituals according to tradition and custom.

Religious marriage

This type of marriage is done in a religious manner. It is usually performed in a religious house with the presence of priests or church leaders.
In this type of marriage, laws that are set forth in the scriptures is applied, the couple there vows to love and respect each other for as long as they both shall leave in earth. This is known as the christian marriage.

There i also the Islamic marriage under the form of religious marriage. In this type of marriage, the Islamic laws are applied.

Court Marriage

Thus type of marriage takes place in the court and here the husband and the wife registers their marriage, exchanges vows and wedding rings. This marriage is usually conducted by the magistrate or court registrar.

Since we are christians, my parents had the christian form of marriage. They got married in the church an they also registered their marriage in court. They practice the Monogamy type of marriage.

Five different types of marriage I know include:

Monogamy: This is the type of marriage that takes place between a Man and a Woman.

Polygamy: Thus type of marriage involves a man marrying more than one wife or a husband marrying more than two husbands.

Same sex marriage: This is when a Man marries a fellow man or a woman marries a fellow woman.

Ghost marriage; This is when a Man or woman is made to marry a dead man or woman. It involves paying the bride price of the deceased and performing some rituals in the grave of the deceased.

Childhood marriage: This is when kids are being given to adults in marriage. The children here involves ones that are too young
for marriage.

Mention 4 reasons why people get married

Reasons people get married include:

• To make a family
• To satisfy their desire to be happy
• For security
• For love
