Marriage is a gift from God. It is the union of man and woman to become husband and wife.
God made marriage for humans to be united and for the human race to be expanded.
Husbands and wife who join together will make children to further expand the world.
God himself performed the first marriage and that is the marriage of our first parents, Adam and Eve. God performed this first marriage bt making Adam pay with his rib to get his wife Eve.
It's true that God performed the first marriage himself and it is a pattern for other humans to follow. It doesn't mean that God has assigned a partner for each person. That is because today God gives us the freewill to choose what we want for ourselves but adhering to his standards, Yes his standard of marriage. God has set the standard that marriage should be between those:
- Who are related in the faith (1 cor 7:39)
- Who are matured enough, that is past the bloom of youth (1 cor 7:36)
So we are free to choose whom we want to marry but following the above standards of God.

I think it's better that two people really love each other and are willing to take anything that comes out of the imperfect marriage, after all love covers a multitude of sin, so if they love each there will be less problems when they bond and live together as one.
My definition of happy married life is when a couple works hard to adhere to bible principles, bible provides advice to husbands and to wives. An advice for the husband says to love his wife as his own body and to wives to show deep respect to the husband. There are many other advice in the bible that couples can apply to keep their marriage happy.
For example when the bible says that we are imperfect and that we should forgive each other and take the lead in showing honor. This will help the couple to settle disputes easily.

It's true that there are many marriages that do not work out, either because thy didn't follow the normal principles I had mentioned earlier or that they do not apply bible principles.
Most husbands treat their wives very bad, even putting her life in danger that the wife decides to separate. While some people get fade up of the marriage maybe because they feel there's something better outside so the separate with their real partner.
There are many other reasons for separation, I haven't written everything here.
Sometimes separation can happen but these couples are still married to each other, even if they get divorced except on the ground of sexual immorality, they are still married to each other in the eyes of the originator of marriage and he doesn't support such ones to remarry another person.
Marriage is something of great value and should not be taken for granted. The best marriage advice can be gotten from the very person who originated it and all the advice we need is found in his word the bible. Following the advice will help couples to enjoy a happy marriage.
