Have You Ever Tried Home Dilivery Food Services?

in Steem Sri Lanka3 years ago
Few times ago home dilivery food services were limited within urbanised areas. It was limited for few popular food chains like Pizza hut , Dominos, Mc Donald etc. But with the Introduction of services like Uber eats , pickme foods average restaurants, cafes and home food services also joined dilivery servicing.

Some food dilivery services offers free dilivery within a certain area or under some conditions. Most of the time they charge per km. People choose these services for there convinience. The quality of these foods and prices depends. Some offers really good service but we can't satisfied with some services. Also the demand can be vary because everyone cannot afford delivery services. So this might limited within a certain group of people.

We don't have any popular services like uber and pickme here but
recently in my area few home dilivery good services were initiated.

We have reduced eating from outside since the pandemic start. Also it was not easy to grab foods from outside because most of the shops are closed due to panadamic.

I went to internet and saw some places dilivering food with in our area. So as a change to try something new. we did 2 orders.

First place is a pizza place called Tasty crust. It locates 17 km away from our home. I saw some good comments about their pizzas. I cantacted them on whatsapp and ordered a medium deviled chicken pizza and a lime-Mint drink. They said it will take one hour to arrive and they accept only cash and bank transfers.

They charged 20 rupees per kilometre.
Our order arrived within 1-1.5 hrs. Their packaging was good.

Taste - They charge for extra toppings. I didn't add extra things this time. I wish if there was more cheese. The crust was soo tasty and they have added a home made pizza sauce and I smelled oregano. They have followed a real recipe. Taste was also good. Next time I should ask them not to put capsicums because I don't like pizza with capsicums. Overall it was good .

The mint - lime drink was soo refreshing. It was soo good.

Totally we spent 1000/ - medium pizza
360 /- dilivery charge
150/ - mint- lime drink
1510 Rupees totally

Other place is a home dilivery service I guess. It is located nearby our house. My brother's friend shared this place and as it's their opening days they offered a deal submarine with a coke. It was 500 rupess. That take orders in weekdays and order in weekend.

We received our order on Saturday. It was enough for two person.

Taste - it included a filling with lettuce , chicken, tomato, onions and some sauces. The taste was good but I didn't prefer that it's being too saucey.
Any way we finished it soo soon.

I wish we have more choices and more food services in our area. City people have lots of options to select.

In my opinion it's not an good idea to have home dilivery foods health wise and financial wise. But it's good if you want to taste Something different.

Good for you. Less options means less hassle. I live in Mount Lavinia and whenever my mom gives a go to order online me and my two sisters always waste around1 to 1.5 hours just going through all the available options without quickly making an order. LOL

I think that's a usual girl behaviour 😅

It looks tasty. I am also away from the town. may be it is good with this situation, because we cannot order anything from outside. but sometimes I missed those food so badly 😥.

If this situation remains like this we might have to use dilivery services often. My fever of trying this is recovered now. I will again try in few months 😅😅.

In my opinion it's not an good idea to have home dilivery foods health wise and financial wise.

It's worth if you have some promocodes with you. I remembered our uni time. we made severel accounts for ubereats and pickme foods to gain promocodes.😜

Unfortunately we don't have ubereats or pickme here. My brother also took lots of advantages from promocodes when he was in Colombo 😅😅

😅😅😅

It's good to hear that. Here, there're several several home delivery services, I think. 🤔 But I rarely order food from outside.

It was my first time. I think it's better to have thses PREPARED at home

You understood the real value of that....That is positive....

Yes ☺️☺️. We should not get used to it

Sunday we got help from Uber eats for ordering a cake. It was the first order for them and they gave Rs. 275 discount for first order.....🙊

But,

In my opinion it's not an good idea to have home dilivery foods health wise and financial wise.

I totally agree with you.....🤗🤗🤗🤗

I have seen uber giving discounts that's good 🤭

I think this type of food delivery online method is very easy for us. really this type of thing wants to be developed around the country. I have heard about some countries have online delivery and transport methods around the country.
anyway, pizza looks very tasty.

Yes on most of the countries they use dilivery services soo efficiently. We need it here.

Yes it was good ☺️

I too badly wanna try something outside from home. I couldn't eat food from a restaurant for a long time😥 Hope to try something for my father's birthday which is near😍

Yesss 🙈 try something new and good
