One of the main questions I get as an avid traveler and vegan is "What do you eat while you're traveling?"

If you are on Steemit, click the photo above to watch the video!

Travelling and trying to find vegan food whilst in other countries, on the go, in airports CAN be difficult! But, if you are prepared... then you're golden!

Here are a few of my tips for traveling vegans:

1. ARE YOU FLYING DOMESTIC OR INTERNATIONAL?

Domestic? Easy peasy. You can take pretty much anything (as long as it's not over 100ml of liquid) on the plane with you. This includes fresh fruits and veggies, homemade bars, and even sandwiches!
International? You must take sealed snacks only (ie. granola bars, dried fruits, etc). This can make things a little bit more difficult if you are taking a long international flight.

2. BE PREPARED

Preparing for a long day of travel is SO essential. It only takes a few minutes, but it will make your journey that much easier for you. Meal prep/pack snacks the night before, and do a quick google search for vegan food places at the airports you are going to. You never want to be starving and not have any food around.

3. CHECK FOR VEGAN MEAL OPTIONS WHEN BOOKING YOUR FLIGHTS

It's becoming much more common now that airlines are offering some type of vegan meal option! Always be sure to check the "special dietary requirements" section when booking your flights. It might not be a 5-star vegan meal, but it will give you a little something to munch on while you are in the air!

4. LONG INTERNATIONAL FLIGHT?

Bring as many sealed snacks as possible. It might be best to choose an airline that does offer some type of vegan meal service, just in case! If you have stopovers in other airports, it's generally quite easy to find some type of vegan meal option.

I hope these tips and my video was helpful to you guys! Let me know!

those look delicious my friend

Thank you!! They definitely are :)

The date balls and oatmeal are quite hearty, good ideas for long flights. Thank you for the recommendations, I might need them soon! :)

Yes! Nice and filling :)

We're going to be travelling to England from Thailand soon and have a 14 hour flight ahead of us so will definitely be taking some of these rawnola balls and stuff as airplane food is gross! I love those rawnola balls, the only problem is, because there so dense I can like like 4000 calories of them! I usually have with Nice cream to fill me up, I like to add peanut butter and cocoa to them too, they like Reeses peanut butter cups :D

Back to Thailand! Yeah I totally know what you mean haha. I can't stand the smell of airplane food! I'll definitely add some PB and cocoa to my next batch :):)

No, leaving Thailand now, possibly for good. The place is so polluted, I've gotten bad allergies and my partner has alot of phlegm, we worried about the damage bring in a polluted environment is doing to us. Definitely try it!

What kind of oatmeal do you eat? Any specific brand you recommend?

I really like Bob's Red Mill! But it's only available (or a decent price) in some countries. I just get whatever is available to me, where ever I am in the world :)

I wish I could play your video but it doesn’t work for me for some reason. I’m on my iphone maybe that’s why.
