Fake news of a fatal car crash wiped out $4 billion in ethereum’s market value yesterday
According to a post on 4-chan, “Vitalik Buterin confirmed dead. Insiders unloading ETH” the post continued… “Fatal car crash, now we have our answer. He was the glue.” While later proven false by Vitalik himself, posting on twitter with a photo and a handwritten note with the most recent block written on it, the price of Ethereum recovered slightly, but it might not be over yet.
Ethereum plunges more than 10% as flash crash refund fails to restore confidence in bitcoin rival
CNBC analysis believes that the market is still recovering from the flash crash in Ethereum caused a single trader on GDAX selling $30 million in a single market order, causing some orders as low as ten cents an ether to be picked up. There’s also unsubstantiated rumor that some of the ICOs have begun to dump their coins. Unconfirmed, but only logical.
Can China’s central bank mint an answer to bitcoin?
No. As is the answer to all questions asked in headlines. The answer is no. As the article discussed, if China’s central bank were to create their own crypto currency it would likely be a reflection of their values, ie that it would be inflationary and tightly controlled by the central bank itself. Such a currency could never hope to compete with the deflationary open and free bitcoin. I would like to see them try though. Free advertising for Bitcoin.

4-chan has the best memes by far but i hate it when they go to far like this.
Agreed on beset memes. But we always have to think about the source, 4chan has a lot of larping idiots who make stuff up a lot, and most of the time that is what it seems to be(with the exception of leaks that turn out to be real rarely).
4chan is good for the infowar for sure, very creative and helps convert normies.
That said, I thinnk it is funny they did this in a way, because it goes back to the old saying "saw it on the internet must be true" that people fall for. When will they learn!!! Hehe
