Model drawing night and more eagles playing with ravens

You know those days when ravens and eagles crowd together on the street and sidewalk? Well, yesterday was one of those days. Mostly, the birds got along ... but eventually the eagles got ornery.

This eagle became tired of the crowd and went to stand in the street alone to wait for its friend.

Later in the day, I took a picture of a popular local totem pole.

And finished up the evening doing live model drawing with a group of local artists at a house far out in the forest.

This was great, and I definitely enjoyed meeting other artists in the area while playing around with metallic oil pastels. But, unlike any of the dozens of live model drawing groups I've participated in across the country over the years, the model for this group wore a bra and underwear. Which was no problem -- just highly unusual. Guess that's the kind of place I'm in now: )
