Even the Children

Deuteronomy 31:11-13
When all Israel is come to appear before the LORD thy God in the place which he shall choose, thou shalt read this law before all Israel in their hearing.
Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law:
And that their children, which have not known any thing, may hear, and learn to fear the LORD your God, as long as ye live in the land whither ye go over Jordan to possess it.

When Israel finally arrived in the Promised Land God instructed that the people be gathered together to hear and learn the Word of God and to be taught to observe that Law.

It was to be everyone:
Men
Women
Strangers and
Children
Everyone was to hear, learn and observe the Law of God.

Notice what I believe to be a powerful phrase, “children which have not known any thing…”
They have not learned about the fall of man
They have not been taught about the tempter, Satan
They have not known the history of Israel
They have not learned about the call of Abraham
They have not heard the promises of God
They have not learned about deliverance from Egypt, the parting of the Red Sea

Perhaps some of these are so young they have not yet learned that they are sinners.

Gather them all in the place God has chosen. Today that is a local New Testament (I believe) Baptist Church.
