I got another lucky break today, I got pretty close up to a very elusive animal, with a camera in hand :)

After work, I took the dog for a walk like every day and this time we got to see two chamois, one grazing in a meadow and another in the forest. A goat-like animal that is called "gams" in Slovenian language, they are easily spooked and normally live higher in the hills and mountains, but last few years they are becoming quite common in our forests.

The dog was actually behaving quite nicely and didn't scare away the one in the meadow, we went on our way, and to my surprise, it was still there when we got back almost half an hour later. I took the dog home, grabbed the camera and went back to try and take a photo. I approached him very slowly and he was very compliant, he was grazing in front of me for another 20 minutes before he had enough of the company.

We were looking at each other for a long time, I was really surprised he let me so close.

After a while he got used to me and he just continued to graze while I inched forward.

When he became startled I just stopped and after a while, he continued. I thought I would get to pet him hehe :)

But eventually I got to close and he decided to bail.

He ran slowly right around me and into the trees, heading for a calmer pasture probably :)

By the looks of it he is loosing fur on one side, don't know what is up with that. Could be he is ill with something. He's probably of some age already to be so comfortable near humans.

I wish I had some great zoom lenses, but this is the best it got with my Canon. I never saw one so close up and in the clear, it was great. And just today when I really had no idea what to post :) It seems luck has finally heard of me hehe. I made a lot of photos of this guy, but I must resist uploading to many, so let this be enough for today.
