Today I found a tiny
little bird that looked to be either
injuried or stunned in
the pouring rain!

Today as I was leaving work, I went outside and saw that we were getting a heavy rain storm. The rain was pouring down from the sky very hard. As I was walking up the sidewalk, I noticed a very tiny, little bird standing in the middle of the walkway. I assumed at first that it would fly away once I got close enough... but no. The little bird hardly moved once I got close enough.
It kind of bounced itself away from me as I got closer... but It did not fly right away. I thought maybe it had been hurt somehow, so I tried to stear it towards a dry area, since it was raining so hard.
I felt so bad for the little birdie! It looked so cold and wet. Poor little bird!
It was such a tiny little yellow and grey bird. I am not sure the exact species...
I stayed by it for a few minutes... and let it get dry out of the rain. It looked very scared, but did stay near me for quite a bit.
Finally, after a few minutes out of the rain, it flew!
I guess it wasn't hurt after all, maybe just stunned.
It's possible it might have flown into the building, or something like that.
I was so happy to see it could still fly!
It flew up on to the wall and sat there for a bit, before finally flying away...

I am very glad it seemed to be ok. I love nature, and hate to see animals or birds suffering. Seeing it fly away was a huge relief!

Oh, your publication has moved me so much! Especially because like you, I love animals and nature with madness (If you check my proffile you'll see) Those of us who live with pets have something in common and that is the love towards animals. Feelings that can not be explained and some people can not understand us either. And is that our little friends make us happy day by day, they feel an unconditional love towards us and always love us without expecting anything in return. I think everyone in the world should follow your example and mine, should love, help, and respect all animals because they give everything without asking anything, because before the power of man who has weapons they are defenseless, because they are eternal children, they don't know about hatred nor war, because they do not know the money and are satisfied with only a roof to shelter from the cold, because they are implied without words, because his look is pure as his soul, because they know neither envy nor grudges, because forgiveness is something natural in them, because they know how to love with loyalty and fidelity, because they give life without having to go to a luxurious clinic, because they do not buy love, they simply wait for it and because they are our companions, eternal friends who never betray. Because they are alive.
For this and a thousand other things they deserve our love. If we learn to love them as they deserve, we will be closer to God.

What a cute little bird! Maybe it flew itself into a window or something. Glad it flew off though and seems to be well. =)
What a sweet face! I have been scouring the internet to see if I could find out what kind of bird this is...looks like a Magnolia Warbler.
I would have done what you did...hung out to make sure the bird was ok and I would have phoned a friend for advice on what to do to help. Little moments like this always remind me to stop for a moment and reconnect with nature...pardon me as I channel my inner Earth mother. ;) Thanks for sharing your story.
