Connecting the dots or building the understanding of something takes time. We all have different capacities and our own natural rhythm of grasping concepts, systems etc. In addition, it is not only different capacities and rhythms that should be taken into account. The way we process information varies. Some methods are more suitable for certain type of people, while those same methods don’t fit too well for others.

Issues arise with catering for the masses. Adopting certain methods as a standard or applying a certain frame. One size fits all. While it requires a lot less resources, customization and time, it rarely works out the best for each individual. Sometimes even small customization can improve someone’s quality of life by a lot. Specially when it comes to learning and work environments. Finding the right approach for the individual can drastically change the results they are able to produce.

While we are forced to endure expectations in performance within some really outdated systems, such as some education systems or sometimes even work environment, we are still better off than we would be a decade ago. With internet at our fingertips, we can easily reach more suitable methods and tools. Sometimes the missing component is a tiny bit of space for creativity, thinking out of the box and having fun while at it.

Don’t assume someone isn’t capable enough, maybe they just process things differently and need slightly different approach.
