RE: A Proud Father!

in #father6 years ago

First of all, your daughters are beautiful! From the sounds of things, you have everything to be proud of, including what you give to your girls...and I'm not talking monetary things, but mostly your time and understanding. That's what kids really appreciate as they get older. My boys are now 20 and 23, and they don't have a great relationship with their father (my ex) because he was always working and didn't spend time with them, but he bought them stuff. I on the other hand, did all kinds of things with them and didn't buy them a whole lot (we too lived among those with more money and sometimes growing up, my kids felt a little 'ripped off'), and today, we have an awesome relationship.

My youngest texted me yesterday: "Thanks for being a great mom. Grateful I can talk to you about whatever and there's no judgement."

That's what it's all about. You're a great dad for even recognizing what you did here! It'll return to you ten-fold buddy :)

Thanks! I feel the similar, there are many things that we can't give them that their schoolmates might have, but they aren't wanting for anything! ... and due to our irregular lifestyle and work, we spend much more decent time with them than if we held a "normal" job!

You're welcome @bengy! That's the stuff that really counts!
