The rest of the year I don't enjoy morning, and winter all in all is terrible, yet merge these two together...winter morning and I have some of the prettiest captures of the year.

It has been unseasonably cold here in NS this December, and now January. Like I said, beautiful mornings are a positive side effect. Here's another one: The ponds and lakes are actually frozen! Most winters you're lucky to get a few days - 1 week, tops, of outdoor skating. I have lost track of the amount of times the boys have gone out this winter. An hour ago I snapped these pics of @eddiebowes on his way out for a game on the local pond.

I really love your pics and narrative. I guess part of the way to enjoy winter is to have fun in a sport that involves a frozen pond.

We haven't seen our cove frozen like that yet this year. Much better than last year.

So beautiful our crystal palace on the bay. I actually laced up those runners and got myself out there and did a fine howdy do up the Bitch Hill and over to MacDonald Cove. Right proud I am. Some of those pics are works of art.

I took my son ice skating twice this past weekend! It actually was pretty warm for Edmonton. Not too far off from 0 during the day! If he was near you, he’d be fascinated with your son carrying the hockey net! Our local outdoor skating rink has two rinks side by side, one for regular skating and one for hockey! He’s not ready to play hockey yet so he always has to skate to the other end of the rink to look at all the older hockey players! He always says he’s going to be a hockey player when he grows up!
Aww, bless your boy, I bet he'll be an awesome hockey player with how much he's interested in the sport. I'm glad you guys got some warmer weather too, you deserve it!
