I know, Halloween was soooo yesterday, but incase you want to see what we got up to, here's our experience :)

He went out with his friends and another parent down to the city of Halifax. He brought 2 garbage bags with him! Hhaha talk about GOALS, I like the way his mind works :) :) :)

Okay, that mask scares the living crap out of me! I am so bad with horror movies and frightening things like that. Stryder loves scary stuff though so I tried to put on a brave face...the costume is called "The Demented Doctor"...EEEK!!!!

The Day
There was still a pumpkin left to carve so the boys did it together.

The Pumpkins
Yes, one has a bike helmet on...that's the special one with the pencil stuck up his nose. His name is "Jeffy".
Brendan's parents were sweet enough to come by incase any kids came to our house, and they lent us their vehicle to do the trick or treating. In rural NS you have to drive to people's houses to trick or treat hahhaa! That's why Eddie went to Halifax. And there are people who will drive to big subdivisions to do it. We stay local, besides, the little guys don't need two garbage bags full of candy anyways (though they may argue with me on that point).
First stop our neighbour's house, we're good friends, they have a little guy named Odin...and the above photo is of Macy the dog and Cheech the cat.
A dog and a baby aren't afraid of Stryder's costume, man I'm some sort of wuss...
Next stop Wayside campground to go see Debbie (who always dresses up and has crazy make up), and of course to see Keith, who has the best candy in St. Margaret's Bay!
So that's what we do in Rural NS, we drive around to people that we know and trick or treat. Pretty different than how I grew up in suburbia. Sometimes en route we see a place with a pumpkin out or some orange lights and we'll stop there. Because no one gets many trick or treaters (we didn't get any this year or last) the houses are really kind, and always give the kids quite a bit, so we only need to really go to like 10 places for the kids to get their yearly quota.
Good grief! Stryders mask is full on, you'd shit yourself coming across that in the dark. Looks li,e you all had a good time. Hopefully there was a huge haul of candy to get the kids through until Christmas. 😉
I'm pretty stingy with the treats, so it will last quite a while :) :) :) My kids and sugar don't mix well, everything has to be moderated for my own sanity lol!!
No worries eh? My friend lives there and he says the same thing, that the Aussies don't really do it because they don't want to turn into Americans lol!

Nope. We have the Day of the Dead, but it is celebrated differently. It is a day to honour the dead. Everyone visits the cemeteries with flowers. After they get together for a family meal. Custom dictates that they have cake, ice cream and pop (soda), usually coca-cola.

When my kids were young, we lived in a bit of a rural area and went out trick or treating by driving as well! And we did not get many kids either. We would give out big handfuls when one group came and if we were lucky, another group came too (sometimes it was my kids and their friends! haha)
Hope your older son got his 2 bags of candy. You might need a small freezer to freeze some for the season! lol :))
Hhaaa! Eddie actually only got enough to fill a small grocery bag! Turns out heading to the city ain't all it's cracked up to be because the folk there get so many kids that they hand out 1 piece of candy lololol :) :) :) His little brothers almost beat him lololol :)
awww! Yes, that is true about handing out 1 piece when you get a lot of kids! The kids come up one after the other in big groups in the busy trick or treat areas.
But filling up a small grocery bag is still pretty good.

I Do like the scary stuff. No we didn't dress Alaska up.. but we did attempt a outfit on the cat. She wasn't hearing that ..

Aw yea that is a fun part, I miss seeing a lot of kids out like back in suburbia days, seeing all the children's costumes is pretty great.
