My First Attempt at Zcash Pool Mining

From the above screen shots, you can see results of overnight pool mining with http://zcash.flypool.org/.

I was using an old spare lap top, so I wasn't expecting much of a result. What was interesting is the problems encountered this morning using the US server for the mining pool. Perhaps there was a flood of activity that caused problems. Whatever it was, the issue was resolved after I switched to the EU server.

Switching Regions and Added Another Miner Seemed to Resolve Problem with Hashrate.

Here are the regional server options, and command used to launch (I am running Ubuntu 16.04 on the laptop):

  • Europe: eu1-zcash.flypool.org:3333

  • US: us1-zcash.flypool.org:3333

  • China: cn1-zcash.flypool.org:3333

  • Run Command (without quotes - added as steemit post doesn't allow these key words): ./nheqminer -l <server:port> -u <"address">.<"worker">
    note: the <"address"> is your zcash "z" key, I am still investigating how to generate a "t" key for the account as there is an open issue with "z" addresses: https://github.com/zcash/zcash/issues/1705
