Hello Steemian friends. Greetings to you all. Its with pleasure that I share my entry on the debate topic "Money or Education".

Its a little hard choosing between the two as both are of important significance and goes hand-in-hand to achieve a balance. I think a different orientation in the two subject matter can help make a difference.

Introduction:

Be it business or education, the idea is to be self sufficient and comfortable.
Successful businesses are managed by sound minded people who understands the scope of the business. This requires some level of education. It could be through apprenticeship, mentorship or formal or informal educational institution. All are means of education.

Education:

Growing up I've always heard "Education is the key." Even @bonaventure24 stated it.

I remember when i was young, i was always saying that education is the key, and i don't need money because I want to graduate from school first.

But we never really asked" Key to what? Job opportunities? Financial stability? Recognition?
Recently, I saw someone post on his social media account that as a child, he was told education is the key but now that he has gotten education which is the key, the leaders have changed the locks. Have the locks really changed? Apparently, he thought getting educated will open doors if financial breakthrough for him.
We all expect that, but is that really what it is?

Understanding the meaning of Education:

Education is a process of acquiring knowledge, skills, value and promoting mental grooming.

Education is key to unlocking potentials, and self sufficiency amongst others. It also provides an avenue to connect with great minds and share knowledge.
It is not a way to gain wealth but has that as one of its numerous advantages.

Why do I choose Education:

As a student, I do know that completing my degree does not guarantee employment. Yes typically, like every student out there I sometimes worry about life after school. But understanding that schooling is a way of enriching my knowledge keeps me going.
It shouldn't always be about the money but knowledge too.
At the same time, choosing education doesn't make one lazy. There are people who run businesses but also seek education. They understand the importance of knowledge.
Personally, I'm a student and I also sew clothes to make money. Its takes money to get education. See why I said its a hard choice? Its all about the focus. And after school, with a capital, I can be self employed even an employer of labour. (Self sufficiency)

If the aim is to acquire wealth, then business/money it is. But if knowledge is power, then education is the option.
Education is a means of gaining knowledge. Money may protect or like they say in my country "Money stops nonsense" but wisdom preserves as stated by the wise king Solomon (Eccl. 7:12)

A person's attitude to money can also be influenced by his level of education.
Being educated does not necessarily mean tertiary education. In Nigeria, The primary (basic) school and secondary school (high school) is education enough. And very essential. So you see education is important.

Conclusion:
Rather than stick to the idea of getting a job after completing a degree, change the perspective.
Strike a balance between money and education. Both are important. Without money, there's no good education and without education, there's no balance view of money and life.
If you've read to this point, I'm sure you've seen that I stand with education. Formal or informal. I'll wait to gain knowledge then pursue money to the fullest.
